Cleaner Classrooms in the New School Year
This post was written by Rita Gorenberg, PR manager for Clorox.
Clorox® is committed to supporting healthy, vibrant communities through illness prevention and promoting education, among other efforts. This fall Clorox is doing its part to ensure that classrooms, where our kids spend most of their day during the school year, are healthy environments.
This is the second year of our Clorox Canisters for Classrooms program, which gives teachers resources to help stop the spread of germs in the classroom. Parents can get involved by visiting www.Cloroxclassrooms.com and taking the Canisters for Classrooms pledge for a healthier school year. In return they will receive a coupon so they can donate a canister of Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes to their child’s classroom. In addition, for every pledge, Clorox will donate a canister of disinfecting wipes to a school in need and $1 to the Alliance for a Healthier Generation to support their Healthy Schools Program (up to $50,000 and 50,000 canisters). We are excited that this year we are partnering with the Alliance, which creates healthier learning environments in more than 18,000 schools, reaching 11 million students across the country.
The Alliance for a Healthier Generation is a nonprofit organization that empowers kids to develop lifelong healthy habits. Both the Alliance and Clorox are committed to helping create healthier learning environments so that students can thrive, making this an ideal partnership.
The Alliance provides assistance, at no cost, to anyone wanting to help a school become a healthier place. The Alliance, founded by the American Heart Association and the Clinton Foundation, works with schools, companies, community organizations, healthcare professionals and families to transform the conditions and systems that lead to healthier children.
