Clorox Signs Climate Change Pact
The Clorox Company has proudly signed on to America Is All In. This statement, supported by more than 1,000 businesses, government entities, universities and other institutions, expresses support for ambitious commitments to tackle the global climate crisis and for the U.S. to rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement. After all, contributing to a healthy planet is central to our purpose of championing people to be well and thrive every single day.
As a signatory, we underscore our commitment to drive economic growth through job-creating, sustainable investments and to do so in a manner that addresses systemic inequalities and ensures everyone benefits from the transition to climate resiliency.
Climate action is a key priority of our IGNITE Strategy.
We’ve committed to 100% renewable electricity in the U.S. and Canada by next year and to setting science-based targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in our operations and across our value chain. These commitments build upon our long-standing focus on climate, which resulted in a cumulative emissions reduction of 56% per case of product sold (46% on an absolute basis) between 2008 and 2019. In addition, as we work towards our goals to reduce virgin plastic and fiber packaging by 50% and achieve 100% zero-waste-to-landfill at our global facilities, we will use less material and generate less waste — actions that also reduce emissions.
The Burt’s Bees brand has also signed America Is All In, underscoring its commitment to advancing just and equitable climate solutions and building environmental resilience. Burt’s Bees has been certified CarbonNeutral® since 2013, is powered by renewable electricity and has maintained landfill-free operations since 2010 helping to avoid waste-related emissions.
