Expanding Our Base of Diverse Suppliers and Diverse Spending
We also continue to drive inclusion and diversity of experience, gender and thought within our supplier base through our supplier diversity program. This program identifies, advocates and tracks our spending with minority, women, service-disabled and veteran-owned business enterprises, as well as gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender business owners in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. The company spent nearly $147.3 million with diverse suppliers in fiscal year 2020. We increased our diverse supplier spend by approximately $9.7 million from fiscal year 2019, and we continue to increase our procurement from national diverse suppliers. Clorox is an active member of such organizations as the National Minority Supplier Development Council and Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, and we are focused on continuing to advocate for supplier diversity in our industry.
In the San Francisco Bay Area, our needs are greatest for certified diverse suppliers who offer goods and/or services in the areas of:
- Transportation & Warehouse Services
- IT Services
- Marketing & Advertising
- Professional & Staffing Services
Since most of our spending occurs outside the Bay Area, where our manufacturing and other operations are located, we are also interested in certified diverse suppliers with the ability to offer large-scale, national services in the areas of:
- Raw Material (Fats & Oil)
- Resin
- Chemicals
- Bottles
- Packaging Products (Rigid & Flexible)
- Secondary Pack
- Liquid Fills
